October 4, 2005: The World Bank acknowledges Al Qarya Group's contribution to their new publication Doing Business in 2006: Creating Jobs. The report was launched on September 12 with great success and extenive media coverage. The report has an accompanying website at http://www.doingbusiness.org.

April 4, 2005: Due to our current workload and incolcement in ongoing projects in the process of rebuilding Iraq, we opted not to exhibit at Rebuild Iraq 2005, in Amman, Jordan from April 4,-7, 2005. However, Al Qarya Group was still represented as articles and press ads appeared in the Rebuild Iraq 2005 suppplement of the International Herald Tribune on April 4, 2005. The supplement was distributed worldwide with IHT and to all visitors and exhibitors of the 2nd international trade exhibition for rebuilding Iraq: Rebuild Iraq 2005.

May 15, 2004: In an effort to meet the technolgy demands of the reconstruction of Iraq, Al Qarya Group announced today that it has launched a full service information technology and telecommunications division headed by IT & telecom specialist Ziad Mugraby.

In accordance with the Coalition Provisional Authority’s Order 54 and the Iraqi Customs Service, Al Qarya Group shall be exempt from the 5% reconstruction levy.

Al Qarya Group Provides Turnkey Mechanical & Electrical Construction Capability

We are meeting that challenge of today's power and telecommunication construction requirements. Our tasks and services in this field are special and control cables, building wires, low, medium, and high voltage cables ranging from 1 KV up to 275 KV, and overhead line conductors up to 500 KV. We also provide services as follows:

  • Joints and termination
  • Supply and installation of electricity power generators
  • Supply and installation of electrical distribution network stations

  • Al Qarya Group has just signed a contract for $6 million to replace the 3MV generator set of Baghdad International Airport including the rehabilitation of the switch gearer to duets generator.
